As I slept that morning I was awakened by the sound of the phone down stairs. Then by my friend Mike Cook as he burst into my room.
Mike: Hey Marshall, wake up man. your CQ just called said something about a recall alert. Marshall: Yea I'm up bro. I heard the phone, thanks. Mike: You think you guys are going over there? Marshall: Oh hell yes. I've been telling everyone since the 2nd we were going. But only a few beleived me. Why do you think I've been making my guys get our trucks and equipment in order. Mike: How'd you know you guys are going? Marshall: I'll tell you when I get home. Mike: Ok
0315hrs Hq's Btry 1-17 FA Morning guys. (as I spoke to my section members) Hey chief what's doing. Nothing just here for the fun. Kelly: What have they got us here so early for? Marshall: I think to get us proccesed for Desert Shield but I'm not sure yet. Coleman: You really think so chief? Marshall: What've I been saying since the 2nd get your stuff ready. Kelly: How do you know were going? Marshall: I'll tell you guys later.
0330hrs Formation. We informed at that time we would march to the Fort Sill Rec center to begin proccesing to possibly go to Desert Shield. Possibly my ass I wispered to Spence.
0400hrs Fort Sill Rec center. As we walked thru the gym doors there were 10 seperate stations set up for our unit. The CSM broke us down into large groups and sent us to different stations where we received a check list to begin proccesing.
